Aphek's vocal tracks are the more melodic and catchier of the few peppered throughout the record, which was most likely a deciding factor in their decision to front "Star Quality" at the head of their promotional push. Her voice wavers a bit at parts, noticeably untrained, but in a charming way. The record starts off establishing the band's pummeling presence, before Tamar Aphek (vox, gits) chimes in, bringing a lighter feel to the atmosphere. They bridge the gap between garage-indie and noise rock, but bring something heavier that defies that troublesome "indie" tag. "Carusella is from Israel and they fit somewhat outside of the music that we usually post here. So for your listening pleasure, I present to you Carusella as today's "New Band To Burn One To". Having gained a lot of experience playing and touring with various Israeli bands, 'Carusella' are defiantly an outrageous and strong experimental act to step out of Israel. Carusella's music easily reflects their tensed chemistry and hormone-charged energies, a fact very much shown in their live performance. This Tel-Aviv heavy rock duo brings out the essence of "Boy-Girl", "super loud", "two people are enough" attitude, with an uncompromising desire to prove their music to be hardcore and poppy at the same time. Freshly created in 2008, by Guy Shechter (drums/vocals) and Tamar Aphek (guitar/vocals).
